Default Posting HTML from External Source With Contribute

    Hi,

Can anybody recommend how I can use Contribute to post preformed HTML
(prepared from an external source - eg, another editor) to a live website? I
can open the HTML file, but cannot then publish it. I found that it was
possible to drop the HTML into the folder C:\Program
    Files\Macromedia\Contribute 3\Configuration\Content\StarterPages and then do
"New Page" - "Starter Web Pages" and this would successfully push the file up -
but with issues (it changes all relative links in the HTML into links pointing
    at the C: drive locations).

It seems fairly mad that I can't use this application to post a pre-existing
HTML page to a site, given I have access rights and the ability to make HTML
pages from scratch. I guess its a security feature, but it would be very handy
    if I could sidestep this.

    Anybody any good ideas?

    Thanks a lot,

    Anthony.

    Hi,

Contribute does not allow publishing of local drafts.
As you said enabling this would allow users from Contribute to publish
HTML pages and can be a serious security issue !!

Workaround would be to push the HTML page to server
and later on edit the page using Contribute.

    Hope this helps !
