Default Powerbook G4 17 "sqeaking" sound during secure web page loads

I have the strangest thing happening with my new Powerbook G4. Whenever I
use a web browser to load a secure site, the entire time that page is
being loaded, I get frequent squeaking noises coming from the computer. I can't
tell if it's some kind of electrical noise being picked up and echoed from
the speakers, or if its actually a very high-pitched mechanical noise of
some kind. My closest comparison would be to have you imagine a squeaky
piece of chalk on a chalkboard, except about 3 rooms away and just barely
audible, and at a much higher pitch.

Is there some kind of special hardware in use to decrypt SSL? I just
can't imagine what's causing this to only happen during secure
(https) page loads.

Anyone else seen this?

BTW, using Jaguar 10.2.6
Powerbook G4 17" with 1GB memory
Safari 1.0 (v85)

To test this on your own PowerBook, just trying loading the main PayPal
page (you don't have to fill anything out, or even have an account - it's
just an example of a secure page on which I hear the noise):

https://www.paypal.com

While the page is being loaded in Safari, listen very closely to your
Powerbook (on my PB G4 17, the noise seems to come from roughly the
right-hand side, near to the screen, roughly where the right speaker is).

Weird.

Yes, I've noticed the same thing, though I had not connected it to
loading a secure site. However, a couple minutes of testing, loading
large sites and small sites vs secure sites, that does appear to be the
source of the issue!

So I can't offer any explanation, just corroboration. I'd really LOVE
to know what causes this!
