PowerComputing -9.2.2 - no sound - Mac Applications & Software

I have an PowerComputing Clone (Powerwave) and thanks to a free program from OWC I could install MAC OS 9.2.2. on it. Everything works fine ,but there is no sound at all.The sound is present in Mac OS 9.1, but disappears as soon i have "upgraded" to 9.2.2 Is there a solution? I own a PCP 240 running 9.1 with no problems. Unless you're planning to
run X, there is no really good reason to run 9.2.2. Further, running X on
an unaccelerated 604 processor isn't worth the effort.

As to exactly what the problem is, I don't know. From personal experience
I know that Apple changed a number of fundamental system goodies between
9.1 and 9.2.x. A number of useful, but very old apps run fine in 9.1 but
    break in 9.2.2.

So my advice is to go back to 9.1.

There are some programs which are runnnig fine on my "silent" Powerwave
with 9.2.2 and those programs(for example Painter 8) do not run on 9.1!
I have an G 3 upgrade 400/1 MB from XLR8,which you need to be able to
    install 9.2.2.
Everything works fine in 9.2.2, but sound!

Which version of the XLR8 driver are you running? I have a G3/500 card
from them. I had a problem with Word 5.1a and they sent me v1.4.3 of the
driver which fixed the problem under 9.1.

    XLR8 Speedcontrol. vers.1.4.0 .

It works fine -no problems what so ever with "silent" programs, but no
sound at all under 9.2.2. In 9.1 sound is ok.
But remember I do not have a "real" Mac.It is a PowerWave from
Powerputing and not supported by Apple (any more.like all the others
    pre G -3 machines)
