If you are not an administrator with full "control" of all of your folders:

You may find that you have a permissions issue. The ppd's are probably there but without the appropriate owner properties, which start way back up the list of folders, starting from the Library in the top level down to the actual PPD.

If you have root or admin control, try using Disk First Aid to do a simple permissions repair.

    Past that, pray.

I can confirm the problem here. It happens only on Tiger, not Panther. It is not a permissions problem. I have both CS2 and CS on the same Tiger Mac. CS2 "sees" the PPDs. CS is "blind" to them. My Mac is used to test software before we release it to production. Because we need to have both CS and CS2 due to incompatibilities between font handling, this new problem means we either have to stay on Panther or only use CS2 in Tiger and leave some Macs on Panther just so we can use CS. I wonder if the problem is really a software bug?
