Default PPD's for an Express Rip

Have a friend who is trying to get their Compose Express Rip to function correctly with Illustrator. They were told to drop certain ppd's in the illustrator folder. Exactly which folder within Illustrator should these be dropped into? Or should they just be dropped into the main Illustrator folder.
    Thanks!!

Actually you can put them anywhere including in the AI folder there is a folder called Utilities with a samples Folder and Sample PPDs you can put them in there.

But they could go anywhere in the separation set up in AI 10 and earlier you load them. In AI CS it is incorporated in the Print dialog you select a postscript printer or Adobe Postscript or PDF and then select other and navigate to any folder you decided to put the ppds in.
