Every few days, I'll load up an Adobe app, like PS, and it'll ask me if I'd like to customize my pref's. And all of my previously used files disappear from the File menu.
Litle things like that.

Are you using dual monitors? I have some apps that do not play well with a dual monitor setup. When I shift to one monitor and then back, Photoshop always resets the prefs. Don't know why.

The symptom, deleting preferences, is odd. When you hold down Ctrl-Alt-Shift while double clicking on the PS icon, and keep those keys held down, that prompts you to delete your preferences. So, with that in mind, is it possible that you have some keyboard shortcut software installed that could be interfering?
