Preflight doesn't give info on files.

Ask a Question related to Adobe Acrobat Macintosh, Design and Development.

Default Preflight doesn't give info on files.

We have a number of machines running OS X 10.4.7. Most work fine, but 1 will not show any file info in Preflight. The same file works fine on other machines. We've reloaded Acrobat (Pro 7) and still have the same proble. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanx

    Andrew,

Check to see if it works as another new user.

    Andrew,

Do you mean the detailed document info? Have you activated the checkbox after preflighting?

Otherwise I am afraid I do not know what you mean?

I think I'm having your same problem.

When I try to execute any profile option (list all images, list images under 300 ppi, etc) Acrobat says "Unknown Error (Unknown Exception)."

It happens to all PDFs: exported directly from QuarkXPress or InDesign, or distilled from a postscript file.

I got a new computer at work about a month ago and installed my copy of CS2. I just noticed the problem this week but it's possible I haven't preflighted anything since the install. I could re-install but if I'm having the same problem as the original poster it didn't work.

    Im running OS 10.4.7
    4 x 2.5 GHz PowerPC G5
    Acrobat Pro 7

    Thanks

I found some more info on the problem. I thought I searched the forum earlier but I searched the knowledge database instead.

Here are links to the other threads and one of the posters reasons for the problem.

The unknown error is caused by having exactly 4 or 8 gigs of ram installed. Half a gig more or less should solve the problem.

I guess I'll take out a memory module and test it. But hopefully a fix is coming.
