Preflight Profiles
Was checking my Preflight Profiles yesterday to see what exactly constitutes a PDFx1a file. When I went to edit profile and opened up the folder I noticed that there were no values entered in the images, colors, fonts, etc... The only thing that was checked was the pdfx compliance box. I don't quite understand this because with these preferences an image that is less than 300 dpi will come up as pdfx1a compliant. Is this the default setting or was someone maybe messing with the profile? I was under the impression that being PDFx1a compliant meant that a file or image was of a hi-res quality... and I also thought that it could not contain spot colors. Can someone illuminate me on this? Thanks.

Re: Preflight Profiles
PDF/X-1a defines a series of rules for a PDF. But there is no rule
about image resolution. It may also contain spot colour. It may not,
however, contain any ICC profile tagged colors, nor RGB. It also does
not forbid TrueType fonts, though some web sites claim it is so.
