Preview in Browser not working

I am using Contribute 3 and the Preview in Browser option is not working for
writers. Only publishers can preview. Is this a bug or are writers blocked from
previewing their page in the browser? Thank you.

Unfotunately you need to have Publish privs to use F12 preview.

I think this is a terrible oversight on the part of Macromedia developers.
Anyone should be able to preview their work in a browser so that they can be
sure that it actually looks right in a variety of browsers.

I've tried to look for a way to enable it through modifying the various
scripts. Has anyone else been successful in locating where to enable it
regardless of your Publish role ?
