    Default <<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>Print question??

I want to print a brochure using 2 spot colours- One will be orange and the other will be a blackish colour.

Now in this brochure I want to use lot of "GREYISH" lines that are between .3 to .4pt in thickness (Illustrator).

Now I could use say 50% tint of the black ink to create the greyish lines. My question is-

    A) I personally don't like using tints because of the pixelated look it gives ie. if you look closely it does not look like one solid colour.

    B) I have never used 50% or lower % of tint for such THIN lines. Am I right in assuming that it's a NO NO?

    C) Does it mean I need to pick a 3rd spot colour to create the light grey thin lines?????

    Please advice

If you want it dead on, you use a new ink, 100%.
If you can live with just 2 colors, use your 2 spots.

Paper comes into the equation as well... I suggest you talk with your
printer and ask for their advice.

When I BEGIN a print job, I talk with my print vendors. They often give
me options that save money or more effectively use space. (Rather than
just dump a job and expect them to make it all perfect.)

    cheers,
