    Default print to/save as pdf

Anyone know why when I print to PDF I can get a PDF that is half the size of
when I save as PDF? Is there any problem with printing as PDF?

(They are set up identically as far as I can tell - I'm not saving ai
document in PDF, they are both set to downsample to 300 DPI above 420,
specifying pdf 1.3, or 1.4 doesn't seem to make any difference. They both
have the smae bleed, same cropmarks etc etc.)

I hope you can get an answer to your questions. It appears that no one
who frequents this newsgroup knows much about the PDF functionality. If
you find an answer elsewhere, I would appreciate it if you would save my
email address and forward me a copy. I will do the same, if you will
send me your true mail address privately.

You cannot retain Illustrator Editing capabilities when printing to PDF, but
otherwise you have more choice when printing to PDF.
