How do you increase the printable area in PS 6.0? This may be simple, but I can't get rid of the white "margins" in the documents when printing.

Most printers require a margin of some kind for paper handling. The driver "knows" about this and, hence, it shows up in PS. Do you have reason to believe that you printer has the capability to do borderless prints? If so, you may need an updated driver. If you post the model details here, someone else may be able to advise.

It will be your printer reducing your printable area, buy a scaple as colin suggests, or if you must print all the way to the edge, you can get very cheap bubble jet printers that will print at near photo quality for under £100, a lot will print all the way to the edge, but not all.

    Default Printable Area

I've got a book cover that I need to print the whole area into a .ps to be distilled into a .pdf. I need to adjust the printable area so that I can not only print the cover, but also the crop marks. Isn't there a way to highlight the area with a rectangle and the printable area will cover it? Please advise. Thanks!

Graham, you may save as PDF directly, at least in AI10.

In File>Document Setup define artboard large enough to hold the lot.
