printers
OT: our printer(phaser749, xerox) just died at work and we are in the market
for a new one, as the part needed to fix the machine costs about 1/2 of the
price of a new printer. since i am the only designer here and the one that
does all the printing this task has been assigned to me. we do a fair amount
of production here with runs of 400 sometimes for brochures and whatnot. i
am also concerned about the reproduction of the photography and
illutstrations i do. so while indeed we are looking for a printer that can
print more than 3 pages per minute we also need one that can reproduce
images with great color matching and can print borderless prints up to 11 x
17. so of course i want the best of both worlds - but i do believe this
world exist. i have done quite a bit of research thus far, but think it
would be best to hear some opinions from others in my field. to sum it up: a
fast postscript laser printer (2400dpi X 2400dpi) capable of producing
borderless prints with a size up to 11 X 17. i am trying to avoid buying
another tek(aka xerox) as thier customer support team leaves much to be
desired in the support area.
thanks, pamb

Printers
Can I add another "distiller" or "PDF" printer to my printers group? I need to have 2 different settings and want to have 2 printer definitions for both versions 5 and 6. I don't have both versions on my pc (as that's impossible) but I support both versions for users. i.e. I can have 2 HP8000 icons (one pointing to queue based printing, one using IP printing). Thanks for your help.

Re: Printers
You can have two versions of Acrobat installed. But only one of them
can provide a distiller printer.

Printers
We have a Windows server 2003 with 4 printers installed
and shared. My problem is that the network printers are
coming up with 'access denied, unable to connect' on the
clients. This isn't happening with all of the clients,
only 3 or 4, and I have tried re-installing the printers
but can't find anything to help.
The clients are using either NT4 or XP.
Any suggestions?
Many thanks, James.
