printers marks not moving when creating PDF
When I print to distiller for press-ready color seps, no matter where I tell the program that the bleed should be, the crop marks do not move. Not sure if this is an ID or Acrobat problem. Has anyone else experienced this? I've tried everything I know - changed the page size in ID, changed the page size in the output, changed the offset, changed the location of the bleeed... to no avail.

Re: printers marks not placed correctly when creating PDF
How are you expecting the crop marks to move?
It does work for me without incident.
The bleed setting will not effect the position of the crop marks. It will effect the position of the bleed marks.
For now, turn off bleed marks.
The offset controls the distance from the crop marks away from the documents edge. (also controls the distance of the other marks)
Offset and bleed work independantly from each other.
Print or export to pdf with no bleed marks and a offset of .5". Is your result not that the crop marks are .5" away from the document edge.?

Re: printers marks not placed correctly when creating PDF
Thank you for your post. I guess I had been trying to outsmart the program by telling it where I wanted the bleed marks so it would be cropped correctly. Instead, it compensated by making the page larger, and it appeared that no matter what I changed, the document would not be cropped in the right place.
I should have simply printed my 11x17 document to 12x18, and it instinctively knew where to crop it, without my telling it that there was a bleed. I left the bleed at zero, and it worked. Thanks again.
