Re: Printing bigger projects on regular paper
I can scale down to fit page at work, but not at home on my deskjet either. I think it depends on your printer.
I know of no other way but to make your artsize smaller to fit the page size.

Re: Printing bigger projects on regular paper
In AI 10.0.3 and earlier File>Page Setup enter a Scale value such as 25%..
In AI CS File >Print>General>Fit to Page

Re: Printing bigger projects on regular paper
Wade, doesn't work on my HP Deskjet 890C. There's no scale. That was the first place I looked.
Maybe you have to have a postscript printer?

Re: Printing bigger projects on regular paper
No.
In the File>Page Set up (Shift Command P) there is a scale in AI 10.0.3 and I believe all previous versions of AI.
You can always select any printer from the printer drop down menu:
Page Set Up Scale <http://mysite.verizon.net/wzphoto/Picture2.jpg>
Well my server seems to have gone done temporarily but you'll be able to access it later.

Re: Printing bigger projects on regular paper
Yeah, I get you, Wade, but I don't have that option on my HP deskjet 890C on Windows platform in AI9.
Might be a Windows XP driver thing? I check the HP site and I do have the current driver.

Re: Printing bigger projects on regular paper
Select in the Page Set Up any printer if that is an option.

Nope, just deskjet, bubblejet, and fax. All look pretty close to the same.

Re: Printing bigger projects on regular paper
Although I get fit to page and different options when I print from Acrobat 4. Same options as AI if I print from Explorer. What's up with that?

Re: Printing bigger projects on regular paper
Acrobat would sort of make your printer postscript.
I would upgrade to AI CS at some point and things might be friendlier.
I myself can't go past 10.2.8 unless I get a new Mac or PC.

Re: Printing bigger projects on regular paper
Why don't you try the Windows Forum?

Re: Printing bigger projects on regular paper
Because, I don't really have an issue with it at home. I usally don't need this feature. I use page specifications for letter size if I do anything at home.
Sorry, Wade,
I was just trying to help Kathryn out.
But, I am very appreciative for all the help you try to give in this forum.
Although, it would help, Kathryn, if you would give us some clue on what system you are running, and what AI version.

Re: Printing bigger projects on regular paper
I run OS 10.2.8 and sometimes boot into OS 9.2.2 but very rarely.
I use AI CS and AI 10.0.3.
