Printing custom line screens
Hi all,
Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I've searched technotes etc & nothing I've read works. We are not able to get our latest Postscript laser printers to print custom line screens on either tinted fills or imported greyscale tiffs. The same printers respond correctly to custom screens when printing from PageMaker but not with FreeHand 10. Have tried everything I can think of ... but no go. Any & all help would be appreciated.

Re: Printing custom line screens
i seem to remember running into this problem with our HP 8150 laserwriter...
where are you setting your halftones? in the print-setup? or object level?
if i remember correctly, I solved the problem by setting all halftones object level (select on the object you want to halftone and set up the dot shape, frequency and angle in freehand's halftone menu (command-h usually by default)).
it could be that the PPD doesn't support halftoning, but the printer can still halftone if given application setting for halftone values....
try it and let me know... good luck!
