Printing enlarged PDFs
I have Adobe Acrobat 5.0 running under Windows. I often have to print "hard" PDFs (i.e., scanned documents, not text-based PDFs). I can enlarge them on the screen but not print them at the desired magnification. Is there a way to do this?
Thanks

Re: Printing enlarged PDFs
There are probably other ways to do this, but what you could try is using the graphics select tool to select whatever portion of your graphic you wish to print, copy it, then paste it into another program ("Word" <retch> will do); you can then re-size the pasted graphic (it should paste as a bitmap) and print that.
I am not sure if you can print a magnified view in AA5 or not.

Re: Printing enlarged PDFs
Ah. I've never succeeded in selecting a portion of a graphic from a "hard" (i.e. non-text-based - is there a better term?) PDF.
In any case, I'm interested in printing whole pages of the source document, enlarged up to 150%. I know they wouldn't fit onto the paper, but perhaps I could print each source page onto four sheets of paper. My purpose in doing so is to easily read and study text that was originally in a small font while at the same time working in a word-processing program (Word). I translate non-English documents into English, and have to see the foreign (PDF) document at the same time as the English I'm producing.

I have no difficulty selecting graphics and/or text using the "Graphics Select Tool" and pasting into Word... How did you go about trying to select a portion of a graphic?

Re: Printing enlarged PDFs
Open your PDF to a page you want to print
Reduce the size of the page until you can see the whole page on your screen
Use your capture image on screen feature
Capture the page and save it as an image with as many pixels as possible
Place your pages on a thumbdrive and take them to kinkos
Have kinkos enlarge them to the size you want - they can print up to 48 inches wide - and have them print them out for you
