Printing FH 11.0.2 & OS X 10.3.4 VERY SLOW
Hi
First we upgraded OS X to version 10.3.4. Freehand 10 runnig.
Freehand 10 on 10.3 was extremly slow on screen.
Then we decided to upgrade to Freehand MX 11.0.2. Now if we turn on
anti-aliasing within preferences, working with MX is ok on screen BUT printing
to a Postscript printer is really horror. Even simple pages need minutes. The
strange thing is if I push the preview button inside printer dialog it is 5
times faster then spooling the printjob. If I try to print from Preview.app
then the printer spoolfile is about fivefold as big as if I print directly from
freehand. So I guess that Freehand is doing some optimizations. Does anybody
has an idea what I can do to optimize this situation. I mean some more complex
documents need 30 minutes and more to spool (not to print). While Freehand is
spooling working with it is impossible.
Thank you in advance
Klaus

Re: Printing FH 11.0.2 & OS X 10.3.4 VERY SLOW
Klaus,
How complex is the document? Does it contain very large TIFF images or many
FHMX Raster Effects? Does it contain many nested groups of complex vector
objects?
