Default Printing Letter size comes out as Legal

    Hello --

Indesign CS 3.01 printing to a Lexmark W810 PS3 printer. When creating a new letter-sized document and putting some text ("this is a test") in the middle and printing it, it comes out on legal instead of letter. This is happening on all three of my machines with Indesign on them, and only in that program. Running on WinXP Pro with all service packs.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

Does the print dialog preview indicate that this is what will happen? If so, your settings are wrong. If not, then there must be a setting in the printer that is screwing things up (or perhaps in the driver that is not being communicated back to ID's print dialog).

What's funny is when we had a power outage a few weeks ago it fixed this problem, now it's come back. The print preview shows 8.5x11

This didn't happen in Pagemaker 6, so something in the new program isn't working right with the print driver.

What happens in the print preview if you change the page size setting to "As defined by driver"?

Try visiting Page Setup from within the InDesign dialogs and setting the page size in there. It ought not to be necessary for a PostScript printer, but that power outage might have broken a setting.

Setting "as defined by driver" and setting the page size as Letter in Page setup (it's already that anyways) didn't make a difference.

    thanks for the replies!
