Default Printing part of a PDF which has Security

    Hi All,
I have a CAD PDF with the following security :
    - Printing : Allowed
    - Changing : Not Allowed
    - Copying : Allowed
    - Comments : Not Allowed
    - Content Accessibility : Allowed
Users can print the complete PDF but cannot :
    (1) Zoom in to print a part of the image at high resolution
    (2) Select part of the image to copy even though Copying is allowed

Can anyone suggest how I can protect the file itelf from any changes
    yet allow these functions ?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I'm not following. If users zoom in on your PDF and click File > Print, they cannot select "Current View"? (keep in mind this feature is not present in the 5.x and earlier versions).

Or if they can select "current view," it comes out low-res?

What method are users trying to use to copy part of the image?

Default Re: Printing part of a PDF which has Security

Sorry if I was not clear.
The problem is that the files are secure CAD files and users need to zoom in and print to see specific details. It would also be very useful if they could select part of graphic and paste into documents to assist the review process. However no one must be able to change the file.

If I open the secure file in Acrobat 5.0 then zoom in to the part I need the graphic select button is enabled but will not select anything so when I try to print the "selected pages/graphic" radio is disabled. The printing outputs the complete page.

I thought that the Content security would allow the users to select the information but I was wrong. Also tried it in 6.0 but get same effect.

Anyone got any ideas ? I would be very grateful for advice on what I am missing. Thanks in advance.
