Printing PDF from Freehand 10 OS X - Macromedia Freehand

I'm trying to print a pdf from Freehand 10 on Mac OS X 10.4. The installed version of acrobat is "Acrobat Professional 6.0.2" I select: -print and then I choose the Adobe PFD printer. Everything seems fine until I hit print. The only thing I recieve is a logfile saying: %%[ Warning: Empty job. Default Printing PDF from Freehand 10 OS X

I'm trying to print a pdf from Freehand 10 on Mac OS X 10.4. The installed
version of acrobat is "Acrobat Professional 6.0.2"

I select: -print and then I choose the Adobe PFD printer. Everything seems
fine until I hit print. The only thing I recieve is a logfile saying:
%%[ Warning: Empty job. No PDF file produced. ] %%

I've tried to find any information about this but without success.

I've also noticed something strange on the same machine/same instance of
    freehand.
When in the print dialog, I have the option to choose "Save as pdf" but when i
    try that the following happens:
    1. When saving the first time, I recieve a blank pdf-file.
    2. When repeating the same procedure, just saving one more time, I recieve a
perfect pdf-file containing all the information.

If I shutdown and restart freehand I have to repeat the procedure once again...

Have anyone encountered this? I've searched for errors similar to this but
without success. I've reinstalled acrobat without success and I suppose that
the next step is to reinstall freehand or OS X.

    Thanx in advance:confused;

Whenever I try the 'print to PDF file' method, I find that curves are
severely flattened and spot inks become CMYK. Distiller is not launched, so
I assume the relatively primitive Apple PDF maker is used to create the PDF
    instead of Distiller.

I'm on FHMX/OS 10.3.9, but I have found it *much* more reliable to print to
(save as) a Postscript file, and then use Distiller to convert the PS file
    to PDF.

FH Page Setup targeted to Adobe PDF.

In the Print dialog, select Adobe PDF printer.
    FreeHand advanced settings as usual.
Output Options>Save as File>Postscript file. The 'Print' button becomes
    'Save'.

    Save the PS file.

See the Distiller Help files for assigning default settings, watched
folders, etc. Distiller can be set to automatically convert PS files with
    your chosen settings.

Printing to a ps-file and then using a distiller could be one way to solve
this. The strange thing is that the print-to-pdf procedure works fine on
another computer setup in the same way. The big question is weather this
problem is within freehand or Mac OS X itself.
