Printing Posters - Adobe Illustrator Windows

I have a 48 x 36 poster in Illustrator CS with a gradient, a couple of drop shadows and three vector logos that I need to print to an HP large format cartridge printer. About 50 copies. What's the best way to set up this doucment and/or rasterize it? The IT guy who runs the printer wants a 150 ppi JPEG to open in Photoshop, and we've done posters this way in the past with good results. Here's a couple of PDF samples. Full Size - 3.7 MB <http://www.dmvnv.com/display-case.pdf> or Letter Size - 165 KB <http://www.dmvnv.com/display-case-letter.pdf>

Can you provide a PDF? Can't the printer use that?

I suggest you eschew JPEG. If you absolutely positively must provide a raster image, use TIFF. Saved with LZW compression you'll get a fairly compact file that might even fit on a CD. If not, burn a DVD.
