    Default Printing Problem in Acrobat

I am trying to print a PDF from Acrobat 5 and I can't figure out how to scale the file down to 'fit to page', so I can print a larger file on to letter or legal sized paper. The PDF was made in PageMaker 7 and I am using Windows XP.

    Please help.

Exactly what can't you figure out? How is it failing?

Sorry, the problem I am having and the one I have indicated aren't the same. If I had a PDF file that is exactly 8.5 x 11 and I wanted to print it on to an 8.5 x 11 sheet. How do I reduce the size of the file to account for the clipping the printer will do. For example in PageMaker you can select 'reduce to fit' and it will scale back from 8.5 x 11. In Acrobat when I select 'shrink oversized pages to paper size' the file is still at 100% and gets clipped during printing.

I hope this is more clear and I apologize for the confusion.

Ahh, you want Acrobat to shrink the file to fit inside the printer's printable area instead of the page?

I don't know of a way to do that.

Then the PPD (if it's a PostScript printer) isn't telling Acrobat the correct printable area. You would probably have to go in to Printer Properties and set the scaling there.
