Default Printing problem - superscripts, % symbol

I'm running OSX 10.4.6 and Acrobat 7.0.8. One particular pdf file (2MB and downloaded from a magazine publisher) will not print superscripts or other symbols like the "%" sign on an HP-4650 (firmware up to date, maxed out memory). It WILL print correctly to the 4650 in page groups of 3 or 4 but not when all 12 pages are submitted. It WILL also print correctly (all 12 pages) to a HP-4600 with less memory. It will print correctly if opened with Preview. I've changed print drivers and had Acrobat save it to another filename. Same problem. Any help greatly appreciated.

Default Re: Printing problem - superscripts, % symbol

    • might be a problem with the font memory stack in the printers (not
    normally that large)

    • check the font format - Acrobat/File/Document Properties/Fonts
check the font format (Type 1 / Truetype / CID)
Out of interest - CID format is more complex ..

    • print the pages with the fonts being downloaded page-by-page
    Print/Advanced/postscript/font policy/

    • you can print as image from Acrobat - but this defeats the point -
    output is low quality ..
