Printing to a pdf
I am using a G4 running tiger. I used to run panther and I could print directly to a .pdf from illustrator and indesign, or a post script file. Now I can only print to a post-script file. When I add Adobe pdf as a printer and then print from indesign it starts like normal but then the job just stops on its own with no trace of a file or log file.

Re: Printing to a pdf
Why would you print to PDF from Illustrator or InDesign? Just choose File->Export (InDesign) or File->Save As (Illustrator). that will give you a MUCH higher fidelity PDF.
Also, Acrobat 6 is not fully compliant with Tiger and you upgrade directly to Acrobat 8 (7 would be fine too, but since 8 is out - just skip it).

Re: Printing to a pdf
I found that if you try to have Adobe PDF 8.0 driver save the file more than 5 levels deeper than root, it will not create a file. Try saving to the Desktop, which is only 3 levels down.
