Printing transformed text? - Adobe Illustrator Windows

Perhaps an obvious thing, but I don't seem to be able to figure this out: how can I make text transformations printable? On Illustrator 11 (CS2) when I enter text, then transform it, the transformations show up on the screen fine, but when attempting to print, only the original text shows up. I've tried to convert text to outlines, to rasterize it, etc. to no avail - only the original text shows up on the print. This holds true only to text: non-text objects show up both on the screen and on the printout after being transformed. Thanks in advance ...

Meant to say Illustrator 12.0 (not 11.0).

I'm not using Illustrator 12, but maybe you aren't set to print masks?

Maybe look in the print dialog box for something about printing masks.

    - OR -

Have you tried expanding appearance or flattening transparency (of the
text) to get rid of the transformation mask?
