HI I was working on a flash website, in Flash MX, when I ran into a problem.

I have a series of buttons that HAVE to be in a movie clip
(so that they can show up in the "Scroll pane" component")

But I need several of them to control the MAIN timeline (level 1) and
command it not to go to a specific frame, but to another scene.

anyway, I read about navigating the main timeline from a movie clip using
the "evaluate" action, and I got it working a while ago
(or so I'm pretty sure been a while) but I can't seem to get it to go to
another scene despite me writing the code similar to the normal gotoandplay
action for another scene.

But anyway, I'm hoping that someone who reads this (maybe you?) will have a
solution or suggestion or at least a hell I don't no either.
