Default Problem: Drop shadow creates a "flat shadow"

Hi, I´m using illustrator 10 and When I apply or "copy" with the eyedropper a drop shadow it just creates a flat shadow, equal to one with 0% blur and 100% opacity. I´ve tried to change the color mode, to a new file, etc and always happens, why?

    thanks for any help

    Zig,

Using the EyeDropper tool to create a Drop Shadow? Why aren't you using Effect\Stylize\Drop Shadow and set the blur perameters and color in the options menu? If that's not working, then try deleting the AIPrefs file (hidden file) with Illustrator closed. See if it next opens with your Drop Shadow option OK.

Thanks Bob, sorry for my english what I wanted to say was that when I apply a drop shadow to something (by the options menu) OR "copy" a dropshadow from another object with the eyedropper it created a flat shadow, but deleting AIPrefs worked fine! Thanks
