Default Problem installing extensions

Hi everybody,

I am having problems installing extensions for Dreamweaver. I am working on a
Mac, with Mac OS X 10.3.9, and I have installed Dreamweaver MX 2004 and
Dreamweaver 8. When I download extensions from this website and try to install
them, I get this message: "Can't update menus. The extension will not be
installed"

Could anyone please help me solve this?
Thanks a lot
D

What extensions are you trying to install and what website is "this website"
? Are you sure the extensions you are trying to install are supported in
the latest EM?

Hi,

First I tried to install lorem_ipsum.mxp from
http://www.technocurve.co.uk/index.php?fn=downloads
And it gave me that error message. After that I tried downloading some
extensions from Macromedia.com, and could install only one of the extensions.
What could be happening?

Thanks,
D

This is a bug in Extension manager where it corrupts your menus.xml file, possibly at the last successful install of an extension.

The only solution I'm aware of to this is with Dreamweaver closed, disable all of your extensions and then delete your user copy of the menus.xml file which is found in: /Configuration/Menus/menus.xml

To find the user's config folder take a look here:

Then enable/install one extension at a time.
