Problem making a PDF <windows >MAC
I have a site which is devoted to Madrigals and the like: I created
it using a program called Noteworthy Composer
(www.noteworthycomposer.com) and it shews the music on staff with
words and stress marks as well as playing the music for the listener
in a modified MIDI file.
MAC users cannot take advantage of this as there is no port-over for
the MAC from the developers, so I thought to make PDF's of the files
by printing to the Acrobat Distiller to produce same. (Acrobat 4.05 /
WIN98SE)
On my WIN machine I get a PDF which prints correctly for me, but
several MAC respondents (for all I know it's ALL of 'em but three have
emailed about it)get gobbledy-gook instead of clefs, signatures and
notes. Letters are placed instead of the note-heads and I'm at a loss
as to what is happening.
One lad suggested something called "font-substitution" was occuring...
I'm a musician, not a computer guru (no matter my wife's opinion,
eigh?) and am stumped on this. I have 5.0 available but since I don't
use XP I can't load 6.0 to test it.
I've put the files I made up at http://www.sosyourmom.com/kitchen.html
and the main files are at http://www.sosyourmom.com/madrigals.html if
anyone would care to have a peek and perhaps castigate me for
overlooking whatever it is I've overlooked.
Be kind... I'm old and feeble, but very grateful in advance for any
assistance rendered.
