You can use Goldshell's Versiown to change the icon (as well as other
properties). If you just want to change the icon only - check out Hoolicon

    http://www.goldshell.com/versiown/main.htm
    http://www.goldshell.com/hoolicon/main.htm

MX2004 lets you create an icon from a cast member, but it's
nice to control the properties as well...

(also check out their DirSaver - Creates Screensaver from Director apps --
    and it's Free!)

Aack! Who told you to do that?! I hope you saved a copy of the original
Projec32.skl file. It is not a simple icon file renamed to .skl.

Make sure you replace it with the original .skl file, then follow the
various successful procedures listed in many posts in the archives of these
    newsgroups.

I think you were trying the method of copying the original Projec32.skl
file to a safe place, then edit the icon in the .skl file with an icon
editor. But don't create an icon and replace the .skl file with it. Some
icon editors required you to temporarily rename the .skl file to .exe,
change the icon, then rename it back to .skl, but I don't know if that's
    still required these days.
