later want to update this my web application get confused and switches around
    with the comma(,) or point(.).
What is the best way to insert and update numbers?

Also when I do a manual Query in Coldfusion and in one field it has (for
example) the value "5,20" it gives an error becouse Coldfusion thinks it are
    two fields...

    Can somebody help me?

you are working on a server with a european/french style regionality set. This
means that decimals are now commas, and since commas are CF's default list
delimiter, you are going to have this issue under default circumstances.

I believe there is a way to change the regionality for your application if you
are using MX, then you should be able to use US formatting.

However, if the DB is set to use the same european/french regional formatting
for numbers then anything you input will be set to use the comma in place of a
    decimal point.

This is the first year I can remember seeing so many questions about servers
outputting European/French output ... are people trying to use servers outside
    of NA a lot now?
