Problem using shockwave
While using a shockwave game on the MSNBC website on Netscape 9 it froze.
After re-booting, shockwave doesn't work. I get a message saying my computer
must be restarted to finish installing shockwave. I have uninstalled and
reinstalled many times and checked for duplicate dirapi.dll and iml32.dll files
and nothing has worked. All the browsers I've tried (Firefox, IE, etc.) do the
same thing. I'm using Windows XP Home. Can anyone help?

Re: Problem using shockwave
Have you actually tried restarting your computer? If you go to the download
center it will give you step by step instructions for making sure that it is
fully installed. It may also be that MSNBC requires a more recent version of
the player. Try downloading the updates.

Re: Problem using shockwave
Thanks for your reply. Yes, I did restart my computer and did download the
latest version. I should also say that after I install it I get a box that
says it has been installed successfully. However I am still unable to use it,
even on shockwave games outside of MSNBC. Have tried different games and
browsers and continue to get the message saying to fully install it, I need to
restart my computer. That does nothing.

Re: Problem using shockwave
Try uninstalling Netscape and install Internet Explorer 7, after you do that
you might have to install shockwave and flash player again. Go to your
downloaded programs in your windows folder in Internet Explorer after you
install it to see if both your players are there if not go to www.adobe.com and
install both players. Don't forget before you do that go to add and remove
programs to see if both players are there. If there are there uninstall and
reinstall it that should work. I like Internet Explorer 7.
