Problem with Automatic Update Version 7.01

This feature has never worked since I bought and installed Adobe Photoshop 7.01 several months ago.

Whenever I try to update the product via the Help/Updates menu, or whenever Photoshop tries to automatically update itself, I get the following error message:

File could not be downloaded.
<http://cgi...tform=0DLLVer=2.8.3.3AOMVer=2.2.3.3>
The required Adobe Online URL is invalid.

This happens every time.

How can I correct this problem?

Has it ever? I have been using PS since version 4 and can’t remember a version where it did. I would have thought they would have either fixed it by now or given up and dropped it.
