Problem with duotone while Exporting to PDF
Hi-
I'm not sure if this an Acrobat issue or InDesign or PS... I have a 20 page doc w/many duotone images. When I Export to PDF (Press setting), one of the images looks 100% grayscale in the output. I've gone to the original image in PS and made sure it's a duotone, relinked it, and same problem occurs. Any ideas? I'm at a loss.
Many thanks
Rick

What version of ID? What version of Acrobat? What file format are the
duotones?

Sorry, that was a little vague.
IDCS for PC
Acrobat 6.0 Pro.
The duotones are PSDs created in CS.
Thanks

Then just check the separations preview in ID and Acrobat.
I would also recommend exporting with Acrobat 5 compatibility.

Re: Problem with duotone while Exporting to PDF
The separations preview in ID showed everything to be OK. Then when the PDF was created, the image would appear to be greyscale. I checked the separations preview in Acrobat and suddenly, my Orange 021 C was there. As soon as I exit the preview, some of the images revert back to grayscale... My problem is that I'm trying to create a high-rez PDF for someone to view and I'm sure that they don't have Acrobat Professional, only Reader and it's probably an older version (sigh). Is this normal to not show all the colors in regular viewing mode?

Re: Problem with duotone while Exporting to PDF
You're worrying about nothing. As long as it prints, you can't account
for everyone's monitor and color management settings.

Re: Problem with duotone while Exporting to PDF
In InDesign CS5, choose 'no color conversion' in the Output settings for best onscreen results.
