problem with Firework 2004 uninstall
Hello,
I've installed the new Fireworks and Dreamweaver 2004. I made a quick
decision to keep the good old MX for a while (principal reason - price of
the upgrade). But after uninstalling Fireworks 2004, I can't run my
Fireworks MX. I get a message:
Fireworks can not run.
The resource files are missing or damaged
So I installed my FW MX again. Same message. Uninstalled it and installed it
again. Same message!!!
So I installed the trial again! I'm using it now (but keep on getting the
same message if I try to use FW MX). I still got 24 days left! Hope someone
can help me!
thanks,

Re: problem with Firework 2004 uninstall
Does this happen when you actually launch Fireworks itself OR when you
choose right-click "Edit with Fireworks" ?
If it is the latter then I understand. If you uninstall 2004 then
Windows (you're using Windows right?) sometimes doesn't revert to the
registered settings and Windows 'thinks' it should still use 2004 for
the document which it cannot open since you uninstalled it.
Just a thought. But if you try to run Fireworks normally by just
launching the application, then I don't have a clue.

Hello,
Please refer to TechNote 15481 http://www.macroemdia.com/go/15481 and follow
the steps on how to install an application in safe mode. Also, make sure you
meet the minimum requirements of Fireworks MX.

I hope this helps.
