Default Problem with Freehand MX gradients...

I have a question for the design team about MXs gradients.... I have created a gradient rectangle that fades black to white, only problem is... at the white end of my gradient there is a black line which I can't get rid of. I've used freehand for years and I don't remember it doing this prior to MX. Whats going on? There are no other objects in my properties panel for this object... JUST the Gradient box (no strokes or anything).

Why is this happening and how do I stop it?

    Any suggestions ?

    Cheers

    Doug

Yes, there's a problem all right. Something's fishy about how FHMX displays
and prints the edges of gradients.

Subselect the rectangle and look at the Properties inspector. Do you have a
second, black fill below the gradient? If so, the solid black seem to be
redrawing with more pixels than the gradient and showing around the edges.
Unfortunately, this black outline is also printing to PostScript output.

Do you have a clone of the rectangle on another layer? The same nasty black
outline happens if I make two identical rectangles one behind the other, the
lower basic black fill and the top a gradient.

The gradient should completely knock out the black object of exactly the
same dimensions and position, but it doesn't. Not good.

Un-check "Enable Anti-Aliasing" in the Preferences and the black line
will disappear. I hope Freehand 12 will have a totally rewritten display
    engine.
