Problem with installation
I just bought PSE 2.0 yesterday and while loading I really had a hard time. I finally got the program to install, but now when I open the program I get the followig error"
"PhotoshopElements.exe-Unable to Locate component"
"This application has failed to start because PicEng.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem"
I have re-installed several times. Same problem.
hp pavilion
Running Windows XP
McAffee
256MB SDRAM
Any help out there? I could not find this problem in any forum on the whole world wide web..or at least if its out there, I can't find it.
Thanks!

Re: Problem with installation
That kind of error about a missing dll is usually related to some 3rd party application. A google search on PicEng.dll looks like it is related to some kind of picture album software that came with a digital camera, possibly a Xirlink DSC Pro Digital Camera. Check out this link <http://support.earthlink.net/mu/1/psc/img/walkthroughs/other/Xirlink_Digital_Camera/2442.psc.html>. You may need to either reinstall this software or completely clean your system of it to resolve this problem.

Problem with installation
Hi all,
I have downloaded culdfusion trial but can'y install it. I have tried on many
computers none was successful. The instalshield starts, then i see a
progression bar, when it reachs 100%, instalshield always asks me to specify
another location. Whatever the location i specify it just runs the progression
bar then send me the same message again. Anyone has an idea about such an issue?
Thanks

Re: Problem with installation
Hello!
I downloaded the developer edition and the trial, both 7.0, and all of them
gets the same error while installing. It appears something like this in the
Installanywhere: "select another temporary place where the instaler should go",
I've selected many directories and later the bar is full again the same message
reapears. If someone could help, please do so. Thxs

Re: Problem with installation
Sorry I did not post this sooner. My problem was caused by not closing my
Norton Anti-Virus program. I re-downloaded the install, turned on NAV and it
installed just fine with no problems. Hope this helps someone else.

Re: Problem with installation
I have the same exact issue as well. Turning off Symantec NAV did not help.
I tried the older 6.x version as well and the installtion starts up and then
just disapperas on the server where I am installing.

Re: Problem with installation
I finally managed to fix my problem with this issue and here is how. I was
downloading the setup file using firefox and this time used internet explorer
and this did the trick. Just to make sure I used the md5 checksum to confirm
and everytime I downlaoded with firefox it came out as incorrect, telling me
the file was corrupt.

Re: Problem with installation
I am also having the problem with the installer asking for another location. I
have tried with Norton Disabled without luck. I have performed the download
using IE.
My email is mshulman@icorps.com
Thanks!

Re: Problem with installation
After you download the file with IE or anything else, use a MD5 checksum
utility and see that the MD5 checksum given on the download page matches. In
my case the MD5 checkum did not match when I was downloading the file. I used
the utility from this site http://www.fastsum.com/. This will tell you clearly
if the file you downloaded is corrupted or not.
