Problem with PHP install - PHP Development

I desperately need help with installing php on my system. I am running Redhat 9 with apach 2.0.45. I downloaded php-4.3.3 and configured it with: ../configure -with-apx2=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs --with-mysql --enable-shared=max --enable-rule=SHARED_CORE It configured alright without complaining so I did a make and make install. After that, I can't find libphp4.so! I did a search with: find / -name libphp4.so but I can't find it anywhere. I have removed the source folder and untar the package again to re-install php several times but no luck. Any help is appreciated....

Default Problem with PHP install

I have 3 servers that need to run php. The installation of the first 2 went
fine but the third one is not working. Any helpful suggestions would be
great.

OS - Linux Fedora Core 1
Web Server - Apache 2.0.49
PHP - 4.3.6
Linux Kernel - 2.4.22-1.2115

I installed using the instructions found on
http://dan.drydog.com/apache2php.html. It was a very straight install with
no error messages. Whats happening now is that when I go to any web site
using PHP everything on a browser works just fine. This is true also for
websites, not using PHP located on the server. I can place plain HTML in
the PHP directory of the site and it again works. Any PHP file trying to
load into a browser immediately brings up a dialog asking to open or save
the file.

The server log files do not indicate an error even in server debug mode.

Almost sounds like Apache is not sending the correct mime header info for
php file types.

I suggest you check the MIME types (Apache Config file) in the failing
server.
