Problem with pictures
Hello, I'm Spanish so excuse me if I don't express myself correctly. I have a problem when I put pictures with shadows or reliefs in a document. When I do that, all the text in that document turns into bold, and I can't change it unless I remove the picture. Is there a solution to this problem? Thank you very much.

Put the text on a new layer above the layer the picture is on.

Re: Problem with pictures
I don't know why but it doesn't work. For example I put the picture in layer 1 and the text in layer 2 but the text still turns into bold.

Re: Problem with pictures
Try putting another layer in between, with an empty frame on that layer
covering the page.

Re: Problem with pictures
why would putting the text on a layer above, or with an empty frame covering the page in between the 2 layers, fix the problem?

Re: Problem with pictures
I'm assuming the bolding that's happening is a result of transparency
flattening. By putting the text above the graphic, the text isn't flattened.
As for the extra empty layer, some users have reported that it helps the
situation. I've never needed it.

Re: Problem with pictures
For that matter Bob, neither have I. But the extra layer with/without an
empty graphic on it has been reported by a lot of people here as solving the
problem - but it may be that switching the text to the top would have solved
it anyway.

Re: Problem with pictures
I'm having a problem with pictures, also. When I import an eps file that I converted to monochrome in photoshop, it appears like a photo made of black dots. I tested it in quark to see if I could figure out the problem and it did the same thing in quark. However, a friend on a mac imports the photo fine in his quark. help, I'm working on a deadline:)

Re: Problem with pictures
You're viewing a lores TIFF preview saved with the EPS file. Save the EPS in PS with preview: TIFF 8bit. See the EPS options in Save As/EPS.
