Problem with putting timestamps in date fields after Fix 10 (DB2 7.2) - IBM DB2

Hello out there, why does DB2 7.2 Fix 10 not more allow to put timestamps in date fields. In prior versions the time information was ignored. Now I got a error message and I must correct my application at many points. Is there any other work around? Greets, Frank from Germany...

Hello out there,

3 questions:

1. Does the problem happen in Fixpak 9?

2. Have you looked at the timestamp related APAR fixes in Fixpak 10 (I
counted about 4 of them:
ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/ps/products/db2/fixes/english-us/db2winv7/FP10_WR21329/APARLIST.html)

3. Can you post the DDL of the table and the INSERT statement?

No, I have not looked yet. But I think there are changes with date fields.

Hm, they are simple date fields and I want to put datetime values in it.
Prior Fix 10
this was no problem (the time value will be ignored). But now a error
message is send back.
I changed my program, so only date values are inserted -> now it works.
Hopefully I found
all places in my sources.

It's an Delphi Program. Delphi does not difference between date and
datetime-values (they are all datetime).
The Source looks so:

myQuery.SQL.Add('UPDATE STORCH.TEST SET DATUM=:DATUM WHERE X=:Y');
myQuery.ParamByName('DATUM').AsDateTime:=myDatum;
myQuery.ParamByName('Y').AsInteger:=myY;
myQuery.ExecSQL;

If "myDatum" (Type: DateTime) contains time information this error occurs.

Greetings,
Frank!

I don't think date and timestamp were ever inter-assignable.

Try to insert a timestamp in a date field with Fix 9, it will work!!
I have now mixed clients (Fix 9 and 10). The same routines work on Fix9
Client
but crash on Fix 10. Believe me!

Greets,
Frank!
