Problem with video playback - Macromedia Flash Player

Hey people, I recently installed M.F.P on my computer and when I try to watch videos associated with M.F.P (Youtube, my space, etc) the video seems to pause every other second. At first I thought that happened because the video wasnt probably downloaded but no. It begins to play again if I rewind or forward the video but it stops again after a couple of seconds. If anyone has the solution to my problem please post it. Thanks......

I know the feeling. It seems that a 30 second clip can take upwards
of 2 minutes to play...very aggravating. I hope someone has the
answer, b/c I need it too!

I seem to have the same problem. But I noticed something interesting after
looking at the download speed that my system was operating at.

From half a dozen different sites, I am only seeing 56K bps on my 5Mbps cable
    connection.

Because of that specific number 56Kbps, I'm wondering if somehow one end or
the other is throttling back the connection speed to that of a 56Kbps modem,
rather than using the actual available bandwidth on the cable side of the
    system ?

It sure seems like the Player is behaving like it's trying to download a high
bandwidth content through a dial up speed limited connection.

Anyone have any ideas on where to look to fix this ?
