Default problems image resizing with eyecandy

Hi group, this one has got me stumped. After applying an Eyecandy 4000
Shadowlab filter to a photo object, I couldn't re-size the resulting image
without cutting off a corner of it. I tried increasing the canvas size,
putting a rectangle behind the photo the same size as the canvas, and then
grouping the photo object and the rectangle together, but no, when I re-size
the image is definitely cut off one side. I wound up copying and pasting the
image into paintshop pro and then copying and pasting it back into fireworks
as a bitmap as a final solution, but not a very elegant one. Can anyone tell
    me what's up with this?

    Thanks, Lisa

Have you applied the shadow via the Filters menu or as a live effect via
the Property inspector. I haven't tried it as a filter, but when it's
applied as a live effect it works perfectly.

Hi Linda, as a life effect. It does work perfectly except when it comes to
re-sizing. For once, I swear it's not because of me!

I believe you. I can't say why it might be happening, though. If you
send me a copy of the editable PNG I might be able to track down the
    problem.

Why go out to PSP and back to FW just to have a bitmap? Save the original
work and then flatten everything right in FW to get your bitmap and resize
that. I often find that applied filters, including live effects, don't
resize well. In that case, when possible, flatten everything and then
    reduce.
