Problems installing panther!

Panther is dropping support for older G3 systems. That could be it?

Actually, his computer is a G4 400MHz, gigabit ethernet model (august
2000). While this is not a new computer, it certainly falls within the
realm of G4, and is (according to Jobs) going to be supported by panther.
