Problems printing from Acrobat 8 to Fiery print controller

I was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on a problem I'm having. I am completely unable to print to two different Fiery rips in my office from Acrobat 8 Pro on my Intel based MacBook Pro running 10.4.8. I don't think it's a problem with the print drivers or the rips since I can print from every other program I use including Acrobat 7 Pro when I had it installed. I'm wondering if the software isn't fully capable of supporting the Intel Macs yet since I've run into other software that doesn't seem to be on par just yet either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In the Advanced Print Setup dialog box, what do you have selected for Color Profile?

Currently it is set to Printer/PostScript Color Management.

Change it to something else (like no cm), see if that makes a difference.

That didn't help. I tried no CM as well as a couple others. I completely forgot to mention this in my original post; when I send the print job it does show up in the print queue but I get the message "The process'fierycupsfilter' terminated unexpectedly on signal 10". I know CUPS is unix which would make me think OS X might be the problem, but I get this on both Fierys and only from Acrobat 8.

EFI says I have to talk to my distribtor. They have a hard core Mac guy on staff but he was no help, nor was Apple Care.

Well, could the distributer reproduce the problem on a similar device? Is it computer specific, i.e. can others in your office with the same hardware and software print ok?

We're having the same problem in our office with the standard ver.8 reader. iMacs (Intel) OS 10.4.8. No problems with ver. 7... sending to high end Canon (iR C3200) and new HP 5200.

I am having the same problem (or very similar). I have a iMac Mac OS X (10.4.8) 2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 3GB Ram.
I haven installed Adobe Creative Suite 2.3 with the new Adobe Acrobat 8.0.

I can print from all other programs, but not Acrobat.
When I print it sends it to the Firey, and then goes to the 'printed' tab, but the words' Finished' never appear next to the file name.

Any assistance would be great.

We have the same problem. We have some MacPro's on OS X (10.4.8) 2 x
2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 2GB Ram.
And the Problems are the same like you, only Adobe Acrobat8 can't
print!
Message: The process "firycupsfilter" terminated unexpectedly on
signal 10.

Please Help!
