Problems uploading MP3's to server

Hi, recently I've been having a problem uploading MP3's to the server. I get
an error: There was no response from the server while transferring the
file...mp3. If I don't quit out of Dreamweaver at the very end of the upload
it begins to upload the mp3 again. If I quit the upload partly through the
process it only uploads a portion of the mp3. So basically, I have to upload
each of the ten mp3's by hand and quit out of Dreamweaver each time. Than
works, but what a pain! Any ideas? As far as I'm aware I haven't changed and
settings on my end, could this be a server problem? I don't think anyone else
who uses the server is having the same problem I am, however. Thanks for

I used to get that problem when I was on DSL... sometimes the connection to the
server would conk out for no reason, and I'd get the same message. Since my
site is all about promoting our music, uploading mp3's was vital. Mp3's are
small files, too (all dependant, of course) so look into the space you have
available on your server... just to make sure.
I've switched over to cable and haven't had that problem for some reason...
wish I knew why, to tell you the truth. But from what I understand, servers
tend to do that-- how often depends on who you are using. (I'm using doteasy)

Thanks for that info. I am using cable at the moment. The connection doesn't
seem to conk out as much as it just doesn't know what to do with the mp3 file
once it's uploaded, so it uploads it again. It will upload it again, over and
over like a broken record. If I stop it half way, it would have only uploaded
half the mp3. So, I'm sure the connection isn't being broken. I just don't
know what it is! I really appreciate the time and effort you spent in
responding, though.

Oh, one other thing now that I think of it. After uploading an mp3, the
upload window says "waiting" for about 15 secs. After that it re-uploads the
same mp3.

I've had this problem MANY times using the FTP utility in Dreamweaver. I would use another FTP program to upload and I'm bettin you'll be ok.

I absolutely agree. I myself don't use the ftp utility built in DW. This is a design and structuring application, no server.
