Problems using a log in form - Macromedia Dreamweaver

Hello, I'm trying to build a web site with a registration form and a login form. I'm using Coldfusion MX as the application server. After building the two input pages (login and registration page, exactly done as been said in one of the tuturials of MacroMedia), I can register (using the registration form) without any problems any person with the corresponding password. The user name and the password are stored nicely in the corresponding database. However, if I want to login afterwards with one of the names (and corresponding password), this never succeeds. Default Problems using a log in form

    Hello,

I'm trying to build a web site with a registration form and a login form.

I've used the 'Log In User' server behavior, exactly as given in the tuturials.
Whatever I do, I never get a positive result from that log form, although I clearly see in the database (Microsoft Access) that the name and password I give via the login form are correct.

    Anyone any idea?

    Rgds.

    Hello,

The Log In server behavior uses session variables. By default, session
support is off in ColdFusion. I believe you need to turn on support for
session variable using an application.cfm page.

This process is discussed in detail on this TechNote.

ColdFusion login page always fails or produces an error:

    Hope this helps!

    Drew,

The tech note you mentioned did the trick. I only had to add a file called 'Application.cfm' with some CF syntax to my web site.

    Thanks very much again.

    Rgds.
