    Default problems with combining pdfs

    1. A feature appears to have been removed from "Combine files": in Acrobat Pro 7, the user could drag the individual files to rearrange them, but that is impossible in Acroabt 8; the user has to repeatedly press the "Move up" and "Move Down" buttons, which is a pain :(. They don't repeat when you hold them down, either!

    2. The "package" concept, which appeared so promising, is useless to me. I routinely assemble course packets from large numbers of individual pdf files (>50). This is now harder because of the removed feature in #1. But I'm continually updating those individual files, so that rebuilding the packet from all those files each time an individual file changes is another royal pain. What would have been hugely useful would be a "package" concept based on aliases: once configured, one rebuilds a package simply by pressing a button, and a pdf is assembled from its components. Did anyone at Adobe consider this?

    3. The funny thing about packages as Acrobat 8 currently builds them is that they require Acrobat 8 Pro to be read. They're supposedly readable by Acrobat 8 Reader as well, but Acrobat 8 reader is nowhere to be found :( Therefore, I couldn't distribute these packages to my students even if I wanted to!

I can confirm that dragging doesn't work on a Mac - PPC. Probably never got bug reported or will be fixed in a future update if it's in Windows.
