Problems with transactions - Microsoft SQL / MS SQL Server

Mario, Why do you need to hold a transaction open? If you're holding it open to accommodate an event that will be triggered by a user interaction (e.g. an end user doing a search or similar), then you may have to look for flaws in your design? Sorry if i've mis-interpreted. -- -- Kind Regards, Robert A. Ellis, MCSD Software Developer "Mario" <com.mx> wrote in message news:03b201c34fdc$b921b7e0$gbl... ...

Hello Mario, you'll have to use a query hint to achieve this behaviour. You
need a READUNCOMMITTED transaction isolation level.

Use this query from second client:
SELECT * FROM CUSTOMERS WITH(READUNCOMMITTED) WHERE CUSTOMERID = 'ALFKI'

But be aware that this way your second client might get wrong value if your
    first client rollbacks transaction !

    Hi Tomislav

    Yes, you are right.
Then can I do for select customer with the true value?
If the first client donīt make commit yet in his update.

    this behaviour. You
