Process to Spot Color Conversion
Is there any way to find the approximate equivalent spot colour for a Pantone process colour?
I want to find a spot colour similar to Pantone DS 49-1.
Its a warm orange colour.
Thanks

Re: Process to Spot Color Conversion
You could use Photoshop to get close, but I would strongly encourage the
purchase of a Pantone swatch book. Much cheaper than a second press run.

Re: Process to Spot Color Conversion
Yes, I do agree about needing a spot colour swatch book.
In the meantime, how do I use PhotoShop to get the Spot equivalent of a process colour?

Re: Process to Spot Color Conversion
I've had a look in PhotoShop and I think Pantone Orange 021C is the nearest.

The key word here is "think." You can't possibly be sure without that book.

Re: Process to Spot Color Conversion
Stephen,
If you have a Pantone Orange 021C color swatch, then double click on the
swatch.
Change the mode to the "Color mode" that you need. (CMYK most likely)
Change the color type to "Process".
If you click the box that says "Name with color value", then it will display
the color value in the swatches palette.
Good luck,
Kirk

Re: Process to Spot Color Conversion
Sorry, I needed to reread the message. You wanted to change from Process to Spot, not the other way around.
